Who Are The Mortgage Lenders?

Investor that lends money secured by mortgages on real estate is called as mortgage lenders. In the present, most lenders sell the loans they write on the secondary mortgage market. When the mortgage lenders sell the mortgages they earn revenue called Service Release Premium. Generally, the purpose of the loan is for the borrower to purchase that same real estate.

The borrower, also known as the mortgagor, gives the mortgage to the mortgage lenders, known as the mortgagee. As the mortgagee, the mortgage lender has the right to sell the property to pay off the loan if the borrower fails to pay. The mortgage runs with the land, so even if the mortgagor transfers the property to someone else, they (the mortgagee) still have the right to sell it if the borrower fails to pay off the loan.

So that a buyer cannot unwittingly buy property subject to a mortgage, mortgages are registered or recorded against the title with a government office, as a public record. The mortgagor has the right to have the mortgage discharged from the title once the debt is paid. So that’s a brief explanation about who is the mortgage lender is.
